International collaboration

The WiNe collaborates with the international research group DOPPS (Dialysis Outcome and Practice Patterns Study) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.

Arbor Research began the CKDopps (Chronic Kidney Disease Outcomes and Practice Patterns) study to collect information on the most effect treatment methods for advanced CKD, in order to improve health services research for future patients.

CKDopps will build on the success of the Dialyse Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS), which Arbor Research has been running since 1996. Like DOPPS, CKDopps has an international dimension, to facilitate the comparison of clinical practice in different countries. The CKDopps team already has already established research contacts for potential collaborations in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil and China. The research teams will collect clinical data and questionnaires from the doctors and patients participating in the study. CKDopps will use this data to describe the extent of the changes in the treatment of patients with advanced CKD, identify the most successful treatment methods and investigate the transition to dialysis treatment at an early stage.
